I am so honored to be able to share this news on my little blog today! Alex and Ahna Chip are expecting their first stork delivery this June! Baby boy Chip will be arriving into a home full of love, laughter and Lola (their adorable King Charles Spaniel puppy). Alex is my longtime friend and (essentially) my life mentor. We work alongside each other spreading the SAT/ACT gospel to students throughout Northern Virgina. I honestly owe so much of my success and happiness to these two, so I was overjoyed to be able to capture this moment in their lives.
Alex and Ahna are the perfect match. They are both driven, amazingly kind people that are a joy to be around. Their families are wonderful and their friends love them to death. Alex is the hardest working person I know, aside from his boss lady wife. They make Beyonce look lazy and they both make ample time to enjoy the little things. Most of my fun DC stories start out with the phrase “so we were having a Top Score outing and…”.
From now on, I pretty much only want to do maternity sessions with both parents. Alex was the proudest dad-to-be and I am so happy that he came along! The early morning sunrise shoot at the blossoms felt more like a coffee and chat session with friends (even though I hate mornings!). We got super lucky at the Tidal Basin by going mid-week before the rain hit. I felt like the blossoms were only around for a week this year; luckily, the timing was perfect for the Chips this spring.
I also have to say that Ahna is absolutely stunning. The fact that she isn’t a professional model astounds me. She definitely has the mommy glow but she truthfully looks this gorgeous all the time! I should know, I see her working from home. She is a super considerate person who always listens to when I’m feeling stressed or lonely. Our lunch dates, although now wine free, are often the best part of my week. I am so thrilled that little baby Chip has decided to wait until June so that Ahna can be there for my big day!
These two have guided me through nearly all of my twenty-something crises. The Chips even threw my bridal shower when none of my family made it to Virgina. They have helped me move forward with both of my independent businesses and have been my mentors, friends, and even family these past 4 years. I can’t wait to meet the new member of Team Chip in 3 short months!
Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day:
