When I first met Jason and Christina via Skype, I knew we would become fast friends. My cat Tuna kept jumping on my lap and their dog Finn was always popping in and out of frame. After chatting about their upcoming wedding, we decided schedule their engagement session and meet for drinks. We then decided we should combine the two activities!

When Jason and Christina told me they wanted portraits in an Irish pub, I was a bit skeptical that a couple would want engagement photos in a dark bar… until they explained that Murphy’s was where they met! I love when couples pick a place that is meaningful for them! I was all about it.

Too top off the meaningful location decision, Jason also proposed to Christina in a park in Alexandria. Jason and Christina could think of no better place for their engagement photos than the place that held all their early relationship memories: Old Town. We strolled through the cobblestone streets of this charming town together. Every nook and cranny was the perfect setting for this fall session.

When we finally got to the Market Square, Jason was immediately drawn to the American flag. As a veteran, he knew it was the perfect back drop for their portrait. The two will tie the knot in 2017 with the help of their military service dog Finn! I grabbed a few drinks with them after our session and I can honestly say that I have never been more excited to see these two client/friends say I do. I am totally going to cry. Here are a few more of my favorite shots from the day!
