I have known Leslie for ten years. We both swam our entire lives and she was actually my recruit at Duke! In fact, she was my very first recruit when I was 17 years old. As the younger sister in my household, I was so excited to finally be able to host someone and be the “big sis”. I even have a Facebook album that is titled “Leslie is coming to Duke”. Although we became fast friends, she ended up attending Princeton and thank goodness she did because this is where she met Mason.

These two didn’t actually meet like the usual college sweethearts because Mason actually attended Harvard! So how did they meet you ask? Three cheers for collegiate swimming! For those of you that don’t know, the swimming world is very small and the Ivy League swimming world is even smaller, so small that the teams sometimes will have casual parties that mix the teams after they compete. These two athletes met and fell in love in rival colleges.

After graduating, Mason was living in Boston but eventually moved to NYC to join the love of his life. In the city, Mason proposed to Leslie on the New York City Highline. He surprised her with a floor full of rose petals and all of her best friends standing by. I have never met two more genuine sweethearts and I cannot wait to capture their September wedding in Rhode Island in 2017.
I adored shooting in New York City over the weekend and I cannot wait to return. Here are a few of my favorite shots from our sunrise session in Central Park!
