Hi friends! It has been quite some time since I have done a personal post! That is probably because my personal life has definitely fallen by the wayside. Almost every single weekend in 2016, I have been shooting a wedding. This is a blessing for sure! I love this job with all of my being, but, it does eat your weekends. I will have shot nearly 30 weddings this season which means there are not a ton of Saturdays to enjoy with my “new” husband! This little shoot was our way of really slowing down and capturing our first Christmas as husband and wife.

Our dear friend Marirosa took these photos and I could not be more thankful for her friendship or for these portraits. This little mini session will hang on our walls for the many Christmases to come. Truthfully, I have never been a Christmas person. Everyone that knows me knows that I am all about Halloween. Perhaps this is because I never really had the big family Christmas tradition with my own family. Becoming a Tuben, I have learned to love the holiday. Piano songs on Christmas Eve, home-made casseroles and secret santa sibling swaps have found their way into my life and I could not be happier.

This has been a very hectic year but I have to say that Ben has never once faltered in his support of me or my passions. With each passing day, I know that I made the right decision in marrying him. He rubs my feet after I return from an 8 hour wedding, makes me breakfast before my sunrise engagement sessions and smiles for an hour of photos even right after he broke his toe! No one can claim to have the perfect relationship but they can certainly do what works for them. I urge all of you to make time for portraits, at least once a year to celebrate your commitment or even just document the stage of life you’re in now. I don’t know what the future holds but in this moment, these photos capture Mr. & Mrs. Tuben perfectly.
