I met Katie about 3 years back through an amazing mutual friend: Jess Perry. As with a great number of my friendships, swimming is involved. Katie grew up in New England swimming as did my former college roommate so it only stood to reason that once Jess got engaged, all of her worlds would collide. Katie and I became fast friends through that year and I always seemed to run into her an Bryan at weddings! After the two met at Tuck business school and dated for the years after, everyone would say “When are you two getting engaged?”
Katie reached out to me to shoot her wedding right after they picked a venue! Although they live in Massachusetts, they knew the quaint farmland of Vermont is where they wanted to tie the knot. Riverside Farm is tucked away outside of Rutland (a small town with an even smaller regional airport). This property has a groom’s cabin, bridal suite, and three barns for reception and ceremony options! The whole property was theirs to design as they pleased. Katie and Bryan did a first look after they read hand written letters to one another. They then got married in a small ceremony in the shade of the oldest, largest tree on the property. The two then walked up the hill to their tented cocktail hour complete with lobster rolls and live music. The barn was the perfect setting for a large farmhouse head table and heart-felt speeches from family and friends. It was really special to see her brother play with the band and have authentic Ben & Jerry’s as a classic Vermont dessert. I adore these two and I am so thrilled that they now officially share a life and last name together. Here are my favorite shots from the day with film developed by The Find Lab.
