I have only cried at 2 weddings this season: this was one of them. Jessica Green hired me to help capture this magical love story in DC and oh man am I glad she did! This was one of the most stylish weddings of 2016. Almila and Cameron got married at the Josephine Butler house this fall which has turned into my favorite venue!

            This venue is one of DC’s best kept secrets. It has areas for both parties to get ready and tons of natural light. The walls are the perfect shade of pale yellow and the location is right near Meridian hill park. This allows for heaps of areas for portraits. Even though it rained on their special day, we waited for a break in the clouds and were able to take a few shots on the balcony. The greenery was still in full force which provided a unique backdrop for bride and groom portraits as well.

Almila’s relationship with her mother was so moving. She was walked down the aisle by her mother and they also did her first dance together. I love unique weddings that pay homage to the support system behind them. A mother-daughter dance is so seldom done that I found it truly touching. The rest of the evening was followed by dancing, great food and funny speeches. I wish Cameron and Almila al the happiness in the world in their new life!
