Today I want to share a less glamorous part of my job: behind the scenes. I have to admit, on wedding day… I WORK. I sweat, I run, I sometimes trip and fall. But I will pretty much go to any lengths to get the perfect images for my couples. Every year, I create a folder of behind the scenes images from my second shooters. This year, I decided to share some of my favorites. While I don’t look my most glamorous on the job, you can see the joy my work brings me in almost every image.

This winter, I traveled to Austin Texas to with Brett Denfeld to capture the wedding of Maddie and Luke. These two love birds were supposed to tie the knot outside but Austin had other plans! It was crazy cold and rainy on their wedding day but that didn’t steal any joy from these kids! Maddie and Luke still were beaming from ear to ear all day long and a stunning wedding at the incredible Star Hill Ranch!

As a Florida gal, it was no surprise that I was in love with Paradise Found. This Pantone concept embraced tropical. This palate encourages bright colors, vibrant hues and palm leaves galore. Coastal brides can easily make this theme work but I was happy to see it come alive in Washington DC! Summer is kickin’ with this tropical bar.

Stroke of Midnight had an extremely elegant color scheme. I also LOVED this shoot because it prominently featured a same-sex couple. I think representation is SO important in the wedding industry so when a national company like Pantone or Wedding Wire elects to create an editorial with two grooms, it makes me incredibly happy. We had an absolute blast while shooting in the Something Vintage warehouse. The entire setting was paradise for any photographer.

Golden Hour was probably my favorite shoot of the Pantone editorial. I find it very rare that couples go for warm and earthy tones on the East Coast so this was a joy to capture. I love the way that these colors looked on both film and digital. Any florals dripping from the ceiling have my heart.

I have always been in love with editorial work, so when Wedding Wire contacted me to partner with Pantone to capture the wedding trends for 2019, I was overjoyed! I was extremely honored to be chosen to photograph 4 different color schemes for this year’s wedding inspiration. I had an insane amount of creative control and was able to contribute to the vision boards, suggested venues and brought my favorite stylist Sincerely Pete on board to help carry out this vision.

I have been dying to shoot at Sekrit Theater for years now! I have a huge crush on glass conservatories so when I found out that I would be traveling to Texas for a wedding, I knew it was my chance to go and see this venue for myself! Katie and Michael were such champs during our chilly morning session!

A lot of people ask me why I planned a 2 week road trip around Texas. Well, every year, I make a list of wedding venues I want to photograph all around the world… It just so happened that a large majority of those happen to be in Texas! Go figure! I got to shoot at 3 stunning venues that I’ve been dreaming about forever and eat all the Tex-Mex I could stomach. Below is my Texas road trip itinerary for inquiring minds!

Ashley and Colton are about the sweetest pair you’ll ever meet. These two are actually tying the knot on a cruise with friends and family this year! Because they will have a very low key wedding with a smaller amount of photos than a traditional big Texas wedding, they decided to go classic with an engagement session at The White Sparrow Barn in Quinlan Texas.
