Being a Division I swimmer, I have ALWAYS wanted to do a water session with one of my couples. But it’s not the easiest thing to convince couples to throw on bikinis and go for a dip when the closet body of water is the Potomac River. I was lucky enough to capture Ellese & Dave’s proposal during their trip to Banff this summer. Since Ellese is a wanderlust like me, we naturally started planning our next adventure. Since we had our eyes set on Tulum, it was a cinch to snap some engagement photos during the front end of our trip when Dave could visit for a few days.

It’s super rare that I accept maternity clients but when a local photography pal of mine reached out to say how darling this couple was, I couldn’t help but say yes! Adleigh & Chace are a photographer’s dream. They trusted any pose that I put them in and had fun with each other! We played around a lot with the potential locations but eventually decided on St. John’s Ruins in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. This gave the two a natural backdrop with the option for a few water inspired snaps at the end. 

WHAT A PAIR. This was my first photo session in Cuba and I was like a kid in a candy store. Ishak & Felix’s natural love and vibrancy set the tone for the whole trip. We snapped these at sunrise before their trip to Paris (which was the first time on a plane out of Cuba for Felix). Their infectious smiles and kind spirits shine through in these portraits.

Amanda and Heikki knew exactly where they wanted engagement photos: right at the spot where he proposed. Heikki got down on one knee right at the Lincoln memorial and asked Amanda to spend forever with him. It only seemed right to have a snowy session on the mall! 

When Kathy sent me inspiration photos for this shoot, I happily referred her to studio photographers in the area. Kathy would not take “I don’t shoot studio” for an answer and oh, man am I so happy she didn’t! I LOVE trying new forms of photography and am thrilled that she put her trust in me to nail this studio session. 

This session was MONTHS in the making! Annie initially reached out to me because she saw on Instagram that we would be in Florence at the same time. Thanks goodness for social media! Because we would both be roaming around to different cities within Italy, we had to plan when our schedules would synch up and it ended up being during my last day in Florence.
