Truth be told, this blog post is a little overwhelming to write! Going to Morocco has been a dream of mine for over a decade and it feels surreal that I am reflecting on the experience today. We really only had 4 full days in Marrakech (plus one day dedicated to travel) but it felt like way longer than a week because we packed EVERYTHING in! Below is all my travel advice for this stunning city!

Last year, I made a Destination Photography Bucket List on the blog. This year, I looked back on it to see if I had made any progress. I shot 8 of the 20 locations on the list! Not half bad for a year! After a full calendar year had past, I was inspired by my journey to look ahead to new travel and reevaluate the list! Some remained on the list and a few new venue-related locations popped up. Here it is folks!

There are few things I love more than travel. I have wanted to go to Cuba since I was a Sophomore in college. My thesis advisor at Duke, Alex Harris, did a series of photographs in Cuba for his book The Idea of Cuba and I was obsessed ever since.

It’s about that time again, another trip.. another blog post. I started these posts as a type of digital journal but I tend to have friends always ask me for recommendations when they travel! Instead of typing the same email again and again and remembering the whole in the wall we ate at a year ago in a foreign country, I just send them these blog posts! The best part about my job is that it allows me to travel. I really think travel gets to towards my main goal in life of being a more complete and understanding person. Seeing and experiencing people of other cultures really allows you to expand your world view and have empathy for people outside of your own experiences. I think empathy is greatly missing in our society at times so I view every travel experience as a fact finding mission about humanity.

So, Ben and I went to Iceland. This seems to be a pretty trendy location as of late so I decided to write a blog post about our journey! This was, weirdly, on Ben’s top places to visit. We have a pretty extensive travel list that we actually made on our honeymoon in June comprised of the top 10 places we both want to go that overlapped. We want to complete this list before trying to have kids (in like a decade).

If you know me, then you know I love to travel. I feel like everyone says this but for me, it is an urge. Something in my bones makes me restless. I also love everything about travel: the airports, layovers, bad plane food, everything. When Ben got sent over to Poland for work a week after we got married, it was the perfect excuse to for a European getaway.
