Ever wonder what an hour of portraits on wedding day would look like? Christina and Alex hired me for just that!! Usually, on wedding day, you usually have a grand total of 30 minutes of newlywed portraits on wedding day… and for these two, it was even less! There was a heatwave on their special […]

This wedding was a decade in the making. These two met at Robinson (when they were 10 years old!) and started dating in their high school years. Cam actually asked her to homecoming by decorating her mininvan in the Robinson parking lot. They then went to college across the country from one another, him at […]

I have been waiting about 2 years to photograph these two again. I got to photograph Ashleigh and Ryan when they were living abroad in Australia! I visited Sydney for a vacation with my friend Margot and we linked up through Instagram. It feels like it has been decades since that trip. Since then, these […]

Rain didn’t steal any joy from these two on their wedding day! I’ll be honest, a lot went not-according-to-plan during Renee & Rob’s wedding day: no one knew how to tie a bow tie, the ceremony was moved inside, and a number of logistics went awry… they actually used my wedding ring in their ceremony! But when it came down to it, these two handled it with grace and experienced the day with joy and laughter which is exactly how they will handle all obstacles in life!

Kaitlin & Ishan love each other so much that they got married TWICE. These newlyweds wanted to honor Ishan’s heritage and have a large traditional Indian wedding in India as well as this stunning wedding at Stone Tower Winery! Their multi-day celebration in India was the first ceremony to honor their eternal commitment before also affirming their commitment in a church in Virgina. I think it’s amazing when two people of different backgrounds blend their heritage and honor tradition in both ways!

When two hand written vows have the same opening line.. you know it’s love!! Stef & Mark have a love that you know will last a lifetime. You can see it in these images… the way mark changes her shoes, the way Stef wrinkles her nose when she laughs at his jokes every single kiss ended with a smile. This fall wedding was one of my all time favorites because this pair was a match made in heaven.

What a bombshell couple these two are!! Diane is actually Ben’s best friend’s little sister! I have known the Mechners since Ben and I started dating so this was a blast to finally meet Diane and Cam in person! These two met at Robinson (when they were 10 years old!) and started dating in their high school years. Cam actually asked her to homecoming by decorating her mininvan in the Robinson parking lot. They then went to college across the country from one another, him at USC and her at UVA, but they managed to make the distance work. Like a true romantic, Cam proposed to Diane in the same parking lot in the same manner he asked her to homecoming all those years ago: he decorated her car with a very different question- ‘Will you marry me?’

Sky and Dallen are two awesome humans that like to have a great time. Sky is actually a wedding photographer herself so I just knew that this day would be super photogenic and perfect for image making! These two met at William and Mary and decided to tie the knot just feet from where they first met. In keeping with campus tradition, they did their first look at the Crim Dell bridge: a spot where lovers can walk across to give them good tidings and a strong bond for life. The rest of the day was just as magical.

Although I’ve known these two for under a year, I feel as though we were meant to be best friends! Perhaps that’s how all athletes feel; we tend to value the same things and approach life in very similar ways. Kelsey and Brett are big fitness fans and live healthy lives filled with good friends, family and good (home-cooked) food. Kelsey and Brett met online and went for their first date to bike around the National mall. It only seems natural that these two would plan a stunning laid back wedding with tons of friends, games and wine.

Michelle contacted me a few weeks before this session; she and her fiancé Tommy had decided to elope and wanted to get married within the month. Just them, and officiant and me. We planned a time and location but these two just couldn’t wait! In true elopement fashion, they went down to the Fairfax Courthouse and tied the knot before this photo session even took place! They chose Bear’s Den because it represented them: they love the outdoors and are a super adventurous couple that needs no frills or pomp and circumstance of a traditional wedding.
