Woodend Sanctuary Wedding | Morgan & Jeff

This wedding was the most unique of the season! Morgan and Jeff did everything they wanted to do their way for their day. They decided that the most important part of a wedding day is celebrating their love with the people that support them most: their closest friends and family. They tied the knot on a super moon Sunday this November at Woodend Nature Sanctuary in Washington, DC. Even the venue was intentionally in theme. Morgan and Jeff had a green wedding: all vendors and products were environmentally friendly. They ever had Vegan treats by The Red Bandana baking company!

The pair met at trivia night at the Mighty Pint and incorporated their meet-cute at their reception. All the tables played trivia and answered questions about the newlyweds. After a dance battle tie breaker, the winning table received Lego keychains as a reward! To tie in to their playful spirit, Morgan and Jeff incorporated the Pixar movie Up into their wedding as well. Their first dance was to the instrumental music from the movie, Morgan incorporated the grape soda pin Ellie gives Carl into her bouquet and she also gave Jeff a framed Up picture to hang in their home as husband and wife.

All of their wedding details were super personal to their lives and personal history. Morgan pinned a photo of her late father to her wedding bouquet along with a charm from her beloved dog’s collar. She also donned her father’s ring when saying “I do.” Family photos were strung up along the trees right next to a family heirloom quilt lining the guestbook table. The men wore wooden feather pins made by Jeffery’s grandfather and worn at his funeral and the wedding rings were kept in Morgan’s grandmothers coin purse. These details were all a way of honoring people who could not be there in body but were definitely there in spirit.

The night ended with dancing and some flash mob coordinated moves to thriller. Everyone took part in their snapchat filter which had their hashtag #KrameristhenewBlack and a cartoon of their kitty. After the goodbyes, this modern couple took off in an Uber to live their happily ever after.
