Every year, I have couples asking me the best place for engagement photos. Whether I’m in DC or Palm Beach, I wanted to always have an answer to these inquiries! Because I am from Delray, I feel like it was almost harder for me to compile this list because I think every street is special because it has a memory; but the most picturesque settings are below!
1. Delray Oaks
Delray oaks is magical. These trees provide a forest cover that allows you to shoot in almost any light!
2. Pan’s Garden
Pan’s Garden on Worth Ave is incredible. This private little vila even has cacti on site!
3. Worth Avenue
Worth Avenue makes you feel like you are walking in Italy. There are colorful stairs and walkways that are a dream! Villa Mizner is the perfect spot to start your photo journey.
4. Morikami Museum & Gardens
This is the perfect setting for a garden lover. The museum is only open 10-5pm and closed Mondays so you may have to sacrifice golden hour but it will be worth it!
5. Riverbend Park or Birch State Park
You can always pretend you’re in the notebook and rent canoes for the day! Both locations allow couples to have an afternoon on the water!
6. Jupiter Lighthouse
This little slice of heaven is just perfection. The lighthouse is a great backdrop for the nautical couple. You will, however, need a permit to shoot here!
7. Ann Norton Sculpture Garden
This hidden gem is perfect for the modern chic couple. The fun architecture gives an edgier look to an engagement
8. Vizcaya Museum & Gardens
Ok this one is by far my favorite. It feels like you stepped into Venice from Miami! There is a shooting permit but costs are lower on weekdays!
9. Atlantic Avenue
“The Ave” has become a darling street for a stroll and some romantic pictures. Between Pineapple Grove and the little parks near the bridge, you can have a fun shoot here before heading to Kilwins for ice cream!
10. Church of Bethesda by the Sea
If you are looking for a vintage old-world feel, this location is flawless. It reminds me of old church ruins that give a very romantic feel to any portraits.
11. Flagler Museum
This is another personal favorite BUT, you need to be a member with the organization to have portraits snapped here! They tend to be very strict!
12. Art Walk at Wynwood
This setting is perfect for the couple that loves art. The bright colors and fun murals make every wall a backdrop.
13. The Beach
This one may seem obvious but the beach at sunrise provides the best light. Daring couples can even get on a life guard stand or in the water with their dress clothes for super romantic portraits!
14. The Sundy House
This cozy brunch spot is surprisingly popular for weddings! The only downsize is the amount of space makes guest numbers limited… but no guests are needed or engagement portraits!
15. Villa Woodbine
This has he same feel as Vizcaya but less variety. Calling ahead is a must do!
16. Bonnet House
This Ft. Lauderdale paradise is the best kept secret! Their gardens are to die for!
17. Redland Tropical Gardens
Yes, yet ANOTHER garden made my list. Are you sensing a theme yet?
18. Estates!
South Florida has an abundance of estates: Deering, Thalatta, Needham and Cooper to name a few! Not only are these great venues for weddings, but they are great for engagements as well!
19. The Society of the Four Arts
This location is also in Palm Beach Appointments required!
There you have it folks! The best places to snap engagement photos in south Florida! I hope you enjoyed the list and it got you thinking about your own engagement location choice!
