Avantika contacted me a few months back to snap some classic DC engagement photos. When picking dates, I didn’t realize that her and her fiancee Felipe would need to fly in just for the occasion! The two met while getting their MBAs at Georgetown University and had since moved to Dallas to start their professional lived together. 

Felipe proposed while in his hometown of Rio Brazil over the holiday season! How awesome is that!? Avantika thought it might e coming up but then Christmas and New Years came and went. As it turns out, Felipe waited until the end of their vacation to pop the question! A very surprised Avantika, of course, said yes. They wanted to return to where it all started for them: the Georgetown campus. We even took photos outside of the classrooms where they met! The couple was also just in time for some cherry blossoms blooming on campus. What luck! Since she is from New Jersey and he is from Brazil, a destination wedding just made sense! These lovebirds will tie the knot in a tropical wedding ceremony on the island of Aruba. Here are my favorite images from their springtime Georgetown engagement session!
