I had very high expectations for this Charlottesville wedding and oh man, every single one was met and exceeded! When this couple first contacted me, it was actually Hayley’s mom Lisa who did all the emailing (and the intake call!) Now usually, that’s a red flag when I have a mom so hands on with planning, only because it usually steps on the toes of what the bride wants… but this felt way different! Lisa and her daughter seemed to be on the same page on every step. They originally planned to hold this wedding at Verulam Farm which is where Ben and I got married! A few months passed and they decided that the weather was a bit of a risk factor in October so they decided to get ready at Farmington Country Club and married at the UVA chapel! Very different than I had pictured and a lot of moving parts but it all came together!
Although these two didn’t do an engagement session, I got to know them over drinks at Northside Social. I also had the privilege of photographing their rehearsal dinner. There is something about these two families that make you feel right at home! Sam’s dad Wes even encouraged me to do a pull from the buried whiskey, which, of course, I did with grace. Wedding day only had one hiccup: there was a huge concert on the UVA lawn! I luckily checked out the campus the day before to be able to work around the massive stage and wires erected all over campus! You can hardly tell in any of these photos! Here are my favorite snaps from Hayley and Sam’s big day! Cheers to these newlyweds who have great tatste in venues. Vendors
