2020 sucked y’all. So many lives completely rocked and hard times fell on nearly every living person all over the world. There’s no denying that the events industry was completely decimated during the pandemic. Limited gathering numbers had brides postponing to next year, downsizing to micro-weddings or cancelling all together. I saw hurt and pain everywhere in the wedding world and knew I wanted to do something, even in a small capacity, to spread a little cheer. When The Scout Guide & Birch Events approached me to do a styled wedding, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to gift a wedding experience to a couple impacted by COVID. Karen and Esteban had planned to get married this year, but like many couples, did the responsible thing and pushed back their wedding. Seeing so many celebrating with small ceremonies or elopements, it’s hard to sit back and watch your wedding dress collect dust. We surprised these two with an intimate affair complete with live music, beautiful design and a cocktail hour that would bring joy to their immediate families and to the couple themselves. They exchanged private vows after their first look and made things official under the big oak tree on property. Perfect weather and major smiles were with us all day long. Major shoutout to The Scout Guide and all the vendors listed below in this post! Here are my favorite snaps of Karen and Esteban’s River Farm micro-wedding!
