Nuffy and Chris had a fabulous destination wedding at the very northern point of Michigan. In fact, we were so far north that the sunset was at 9:30PM- a photographer’s dream. They held a rehearsal party with a Texas theme (an ode to the bride’s hometown) at Chris’ family lodge. The nest day, both bride and groom got ready at the Perry hotel and took portraits around the property before traveling to their ceremony. These two got married in the middle of a pandemic…. How many couples do you know can say that!? In their small town of Petoskey, Michigan there have been an extremely limited number of coronavirus cases. Even still, this couple took extra precautions when planning their wedding and adapted to make safety a priority for their guests. With a paired down guest list, Nuffy and Chris hosted their entire wedding outside. They tied the knot right outside the doors of the church where they initially intended to wed. The weather was beautiful and we were able to take a short walk to Lake Michigan for portraits after their tent nuptials. Their whole wedding greeted them on the Perry steps wen they arrived! Dinner and dancing was met with sunshine and laughter all into the evening. Nuffy changed into a second look that accented the purple of her bridesmaids color scheme! I loved their first dance with each other and with both their mommas. Because the Lake Michigan fireworks were cancelled to promote social distancing, some locals gave us a show to end the night. Here are some of my favorite images that tell the story of their day. Congrats cuties!
