This was probably one of my favorite weddings to date. Liz is a close friend of my sister Kristian’s and as soon as she got engaged, K was all about that referral. I sat down on a random weeknight to Facetime Jordan and Liz to see if it would be a good fit and BAM, it seemed like we had been friends for years. This probably should have come as no surprise given how laid back my sister and her friends tend to be. Flash forward a few weeks and I was up in Boston snapping Liz & Jordan’s engagement photos!

Liz and Jordan met the old fashioned way: bumping into each other at their apartment building. After mingling together at a mutual friend’s party, the two became inseparable. Flash forward into their relationship and Jordan decided to propose in their home. Liz was in the shower when Jordan decided to dress in a blue tux and surprised her with a proposal! When planning the wedding, both of them had been to their fair share of weddings as guests so they knew what was really important: good music, great food and a laid back guest experience.

Their wedding was filled with nautical details that complimented their destination hotel venue in Maine. The Cliff House is a premier hotel that boasts stunning views and attracts guests from all over the globe. When the weather turned chilly, without hesitation, both Liz and Jordan said “Weather be damned; we’re goin’ outside!” On this brisk Maine evening, we snapped portraits out on the coastline and they had their ceremony lit by fire as guests huddled together under wraps and coats. Their ceremony was extremely unique to them. They hand wrote their vows, had a knot tying ceremony and laughed the whole way throughout.

The reception was extremely elegant and maintained the coastal theme. Lobster rolls were served for an appetizer and the tables were lit by candled lanterns and adorned with blooms.
