I constantly get couples asking me where to have their DC wedding! Well, you’re in luck! Thanks to Google, I have comprised a list of the best wedding venues in the District of Columbia. You should always consider what season you are getting married in and how many guests you’re inviting. Take a look! 

1. Josephine Butler House

Josephine Butler House is incredible. It’s possibly DC’s best kept secret! The light yellow is perfect for a romantic backdrop. They also have a darling balcony that is perfect for portraits and are across from Meridian Hill Park

2. Anderson House

Anderson House also known as The Society of the Cincinnati is elegant and fun all at once. You’ll feel like you’re in Paris instead of DC!

3. Loft at 600F

The Loft at 600 F is the perfect space for a modern DC wedding. You don’t even need a rain plan!

4. Lincoln’s Cottage

Lincoln’s Cottage is one DC wedding location that I adore shooting at! It has so many indoor and outdoor options for your nuptials! 

5. Museum of Women in the Arts

National Museum of Women in the Arts is a massive elegant ballroom! The view for your first dance from above is absolutely breath-taking! 

6. Hotel Monaco

Hotel Monaco is the perfect hotel wedding if you’re in the city! It is romantic and classic all in one! 

7. Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)

DAR Constitution Hall or Daughters of the American Revolution is the perfect wedding venue. It also has an AMAZING view of the monuments from the balcony!

8. The Arts Club of DC

The Arts Club of Washington weddings are super fun! They have a fun indoor space for gorgeous natural light portraits and a patio out back to tie the knot. It is also a 5 minute uber from Lincoln memorial wedding photos!

9. Memorials & Parks!

I love when couples get married outside. Especially when it is at an iconic DC location like the having a DC War Memorial wedding. Be sure to secure your permit! 

10. Andrew Mellon Auditorium

Andrew Mellon Auditorium weddings are stunning. Again, if you’re looking for a grand look, this ballroom stuns! 

11. Carnegie Institute of Science

The Carnegie Institute of Science has great indoor and outdoor spaces! The steps are actually perfect for wedding party photos!

12. Cosmos Club

OK, I am pretty much dying to shoot a Cosmos Club wedding. It is nestled right in the heart of Washington D.C. so it makes for the perfect city wedding. 

13. The Hay Adams

The Hay Adams Weddings have the best rooftop views in DC! A must see even if you don’t tie the knot in DC! 

14. The National Building Musuem

The National Building Museum is a fun venue for the Artsy couple getting married in DC. Check what exhibits are coming up before you book! 

15. Capitol View at 400

Shooting at Capitol View at 400 is the absolute best on an overcast day. There is a fabulous view of the capitol building as you may have guessed by the name! 

16. The Omni Shoreham

I’ve shot getting ready portraits at the Omni Shoreham but the back deck is absolutely stunning for a wedding ceremony! My bride Amy got ready here and we were able to sneak in some bridal portraits before I Do!

17. The Willard Intercontinental

The Willard InterContinental weddings are quintessential DC Elegance. This can’t be beat during spring time. This interior needs no rain plan!  

18. APA Potomac View Terrace

American Pharmacists Association and Potomac View Terrace has one of the best views in the city hands down! Perfect for D.C. wedding portraits. 

19. Dumbarton House

Dumbarton House is one of the district’s best kept secrets. It has great indoor and outdoor spaces and is right in Georgetown!

20. McLean Gardens Ballroom

McLean Gardens Ballroom is really one to visit! Photos don’t do it justice!

21. Darlington House

Darlington House is great for a small wedding reception. It is in the heart of DC and seats 70! 

22. St. Francis Hall

St. Francis Hall is one of my favorite spots. Ben and I even did our anniversary photos there! 

23. Decatur House

Decatur House is perfect for the modern D.C. bride. This space offers classic elegance in a brick patio. 

24. Washington National Cathedral

D.C. National Cathedral weddings are super elegant! I actually LOVE doing portraits in the Bishop’s Garden or under the picturesque arches like at Bianca & Brian’s wedding

25. Meridian House

Ummm, I am mildly obsessed with Meridian House weddings! They have a European wedding feel that cannot be beat!

26. Metropolitan Club 

Private clubs are all the rage to get married in for a DC wedding! The Metropolitan Club of DC has an elegant space and a great outdoor area for portraits! 

27. Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens

This private mansion would be the ideal place for a DC garden wedding! Check out the Hillwood Estate website for more info! 

28. The Fairmont DC

The Fairmont in DC is one of the only hotels that make the list! They huge bay windows allow for TONS of natural light all day long! 

29. Congressional Club

 

The Congressional Club was an all women’s club founded by the wives of congressional members! It opened to the public in 2018! if you are looking for a unique venue that has a ton of history but hasn’t been over done: this is it.
