Since my husband works in hotels, I often get the question, “Kir, what are your favorite DC hotels?” I will also say, so many DC weddings are at a church or reception space so a getting ready area is needed! The better the room, the better your getting ready imagery and often times, First Look […]

Best Washington DC Hotel Wedding Venues | District of Columbia Hotels | DC Travel

This was one of my favorite weddings possibly ever. Allie and Bryce tied the knot at Yours Truly hotel and it was magic. Funky florals, record inspired place settings and every event in one space made this one easy and fun! Check out their feature on Carats and Cake (https://caratsandcake.com/wedding/allie-and-bryce) and my favorites below! Can’t […]

Yours Truly Hotel Wedding | Mercy Me Wedding | Allie and Bryce

It’s impossible to take a bad picture of Emily and Ben. These two have an easy-going nature that makes it impossible not to fall in love with them. We wandered all over DC to create their perfect wedding day with city goers cheering & congratulating from the streets and in their cars. Every step of […]

Museum of Women in the Arts Wedding | Conrad Hilton DC Wedding | Emily and Ben

Is it October yet?! Aidan and Greg are my first clients to book me less than 4 months before wedding day! It’s actually very fitting with their personalities. These two value love and none of the pomp and circumstance that surrounds wedding day. They are having a small ceremony at the Josephine Butler Center which they want to feel more like a casual party & cocktail hour with friends. This may be the first time I will not be documenting getting ready or detail shots on wedding day!

Washington D.C. Engagement Session | District of Columbia Wedding Photographer | Kir Tuben

Kelsey and Brett had the hardest time scheduling an engagement session! Either I was busy or it rained al over our plans! One month away from their wedding, we finally had some sunshine and good planning fortune! As Kelsey calls it “practicing not being awkward” for your wedding day is so important if you want to be relaxed on camera! These two were naturals.

Thomas Jefferson Memorial Engagement | Capital Bike Share Engagement | Kelsey and Brett

Allison and Dave are one of the most laid back couples I have worked with. The two met in DC and have lived in the city for years around Logan Circle so it stands to reason that we would snap engagement photos around the place they call home. We started at The Coffee Bar and got super lucky with an early blooming tree nearby!

Logan Circle DC Engagement | Springtime Coffee Shop Engagement | Allison and Dave

Ah yes, the age-old question: Do I need a wedding planner? The answer is an overwhelming YES. What most brides don’t realize is that, no matter what, you will have a wedding planner. If you don’t hire a professional, this job will either fall to you, your photographer, your mother, or a team of drunken bridesmaids. This is not to say that any of these people can do this job or are in the least bit qualified for it… but one way or another, your wedding will go on. Whether you want it to run smoothly without stress is up to you.

Should I Hire a Wedding Planner? | DC Wedding Planning | Couples’ Education

2017 will forever be the year I remember building my ideal business. I shot 19 weddings, 5 styled shoots, took on 3 second shooting gigs, 52 engagements, 3 proposals and 12 lifestyle shoots. I rebranded, hired an associate and (fun fact) still was tutoring full time.

Who else is sick of white wedding dresses!? Ok, ok, there is nothing wrong with a classic.. but what about a vow renewal dress? Or maybe you want to depart from the traditional wedding dress and rock something a little more funky to your wedding day.

Germana Wedding Inspiration | Black Wedding Dress | Alternative Wedding Dress | Cecillia Lin

This couple definitely embodies my ideal clientele. They are a “true, authentic couple” and I was honored to be a part of their day. Amy and Craig said “I do” and broke the glass at an intimate wedding ceremony at the Woodend Nature Sanctuary  this July! Also known as the Audubon Naturalist Society, this wedding venue is perfect for a couple that loves the outdoors. Given that Amy & Craig are active hikers, runners and bikers, this location was a no brainer!
