It’s obvious to see how easily Bridgette and Doug fit together. Doug is an extremely thoughtful and kind soul which is mirrored only by Bridgette’s sweetness and loving nature. What made this wedding special was the bond these newlyweds shared. These two read personal letters during their first look and it was one of the sweetest moments I’ve ever seen. Their intimate ceremony in the all white church concluded with a family only send off and some alone time for just the two of them.

Green Spring Valley Hunt Club Wedding | Maryland Wedding Photographer | Bridgette and Doug

Today, I wanted to share all of my thoughts, feels and snaps behind my incredible labor of love on my blog. This was hands down the hardest thing I have ever done in my photography career. I’m not going to lie, hosting a workshop is tough. It was the first thing in my business I felt nervous about and I had serious doubts leading up to May: What if people didn’t buy tickets? What if attendees walk away feeling disappointed? What if I failed? Well, I’m here to tell you it was all worth it. The feeling of being able to give business owners tools to become more successful is an all time high feeling for me.

Real Talk Workshop | District of Columbia Photography Workshop | Kir Tuben Photography

Allison and Dave are one of the most laid back couples I have worked with. The two met in DC and have lived in the city for years around Logan Circle so it stands to reason that we would snap engagement photos around the place they call home. We started at The Coffee Bar and got super lucky with an early blooming tree nearby!

Logan Circle DC Engagement | Springtime Coffee Shop Engagement | Allison and Dave

As you may (or may not) know, I have officially launched my photography workshop called The Real Talk Workshop. We get it Kir… you’re hosting a workshop. So why then am I writing a blog post about it? Well, I don’t really think a landing page on my site is doing this event justice. I want to really dive in and explain the passion behind this project.

You may not believe it but this is the SECOND puppy announcement shoot I have done in my career. Some might think that hiring a professional photographer for your pet is “extra” but actually I think it celebrates some of the best moments in your everyday life! Pets (especially doggos) become such a huge part of your family that I think it is sweet to commemorate their childhood with some quality images!

DC Lifestyle Shoot | Puppy Announcement Photos | Cale and Lori

In the field of photography, there are heaps of learning opportunities to choose from. There is no shortage of educational experiences ranging from one-on-one mentoring to huge auditorium filled conferences. But how are you to know where to spend your time and money? Here are five questions to consider when selecting your educational experience.
