This summer, I had the pleasure of photographing David and Becky. Becky was referred to be by a mutual friend who works in her office, Greg Millwater. As it turned out, I actually already knew her fiance! David and I were the same year as Teach for America Corps members! Out of the entire DC region, David and I were buddies because we both had a love of sarcasm. It was fate that years later, I would get to hang out with this magnificent couple by capturing their wedding day! We snapped these portraits at the National Portrait Gallery and Yards Park near their home!

Ah Lincoln. Sunrise. Formal Attire. What more could a photographer want?! Kitty and Andrew met me for the perfect sunrise at one of my favorite spots. After some debate on location and timing, we decided there was no better idea than a classic DC engagement session at the Lincoln Memorial.

This session right here was a DREAM. Alex and Mitch were utter perfection at the monuments this spring sunrise. They decided on engagement photos at the Lincoln memorial because that is where Mitch proposed. Actually, minutes earlier, someone stole his thunder and popped the questions right before he did! What are the odds!? We ended the DC engagement at the Kennedy Center, where the two had their first date.

One of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is being able to model for friends in the industry! Much to Ben’s chagrin, we get to have multiple fake weddings. When Eddie of Jalapeño Photography reached out looking for a couple to model for a film shoot, we couldn’t wait to jump in front of the camera!

This month, I had the pleasure of capturing Kunal Patel’s surprise proposal! He contacted me a week in advance to ask me to play spy while he proposed to his long time girlfriend Punam. As it turns out, they’re both from my home state of Florida! In fact, Punam is from the same county as me! Capturing surprise proposals is my favorite thing to do as a wedding photographer and I was honored that Kunal reached out to me.

To say I have a couple crush on these two is an understatement. David and Meaghan are the ultimate college sweethearts! These two were so natural in front of the camera, I barely had to pose them at all. Even during our rainy session on Georgetown’s campus, these two shined on camera.

I adored this sunrise session with Amy and Craig. These two toured me around their neighborhood of Mt. Pleasant Saturday morning before the farmer’s market. I never dreamed there would be so many fun nooks and crannies just around the corner from their town house!

The story of how Paige and Jared met is straight out of a fairytale. Jared lost his wallet in a movie theater. Paige was the lucky movie-goer who found the lost item and called the phone number in the wallet to try to return it to its rightful owner. The number was actually Jared’s mother! After some light conversation, Jared asked Paige on a date and the rest is history!

Well, we did it! We made it one full year as a married couple. Although we have known each other for about a decade and have been together for 6 years, there is something so special about the first year of marriage. I really do feel like Ben and I work as a team, sometimes to a fault.

These two are the definition of timeless love. The way Molly and Jake interact with each other just warms your heart. Jake is such a gentleman and I have yet to be around these two without seeing a constant smile on their faces. We first met at Northside Social to discuss a wedding vision. We landed on the words ‘classic romance’ and that is exactly what these two embody!
