I have known Allison for nearly 10 years now! We actually went to high school together in Delray Beach, Florida. Because the world is extremely small, it just so turns out that I would be in her neck of the woods during my trip out west! I got the opportunity to photograph her adorable family and meet her little rugrats, Zach & Adelaide during an early morning session at Arches National Park in Moab, Utah.

It’s difficult to describe how much I loved this session. Morgan and Brent were just the most darling couple you have ever met. None of us had ever been to Horseshoe Bend so it was an experience for all of us! As we walked up to the overlook, we chatted about travel, relationships and photography: all of my favorite things. I found that these two had met through church and Brent proposed at their favorite sand dunes in their hometown! They definitely both embody young love and are such a fun, adventurous couple. In fact, Brent has been to all 50 states!

Sitting down to write this blog post was quite the endeavor. The trip I am about to describe has been DECADES in the making. I have always wanted to explore more of the American West by car (and live on the road) but I just didn’t really know how. I first thought about buying a van and renovating it to be a sleeper camper. Although I found heaps of helpful websites, not being handy and having never been camping, I felt extremely at a disadvantage. I looked into renting a van from various companies but I found them to be nearly as expensive per day as a hotel room! I put it out of my mind until fate stepped in.
