The story of how Paige and Jared met is straight out of a fairytale. Jared lost his wallet in a movie theater. Paige was the lucky movie-goer who found the lost item and called the phone number in the wallet to try to return it to its rightful owner. The number was actually Jared’s mother! After some light conversation, Jared asked Paige on a date and the rest is history!

These two are the definition of timeless love. The way Molly and Jake interact with each other just warms your heart. Jake is such a gentleman and I have yet to be around these two without seeing a constant smile on their faces. We first met at Northside Social to discuss a wedding vision. We landed on the words ‘classic romance’ and that is exactly what these two embody!

City center is now officially my new favorite place to shoot in spring! I adore it when my couples suggest portrait locations! When Sasha emailed me suggesting a crosswalk & City Center, I was all about it! I love shooting in places I’ve never been; it allows me to be even more creative and lets me explore my own city.

Abby & Sam’s story is one of my absolute favorites. Abby, the Olympic diver and Sam, a talented collegiate athlete himself, both met at Duke. She attends Duke medical school and Sam is the Duke assistant football coach so it stands to reason that these two would meet on campus no? Wrong! Actually, these two met through a kismet accident.

I definitely have a tad bit of biased favoritism towards this couple! Not only because they are having a stunning idyllic wedding in Italy that I get to photograph this fall but also because I have known Andrew since he was a little kid! I used to have sleepovers at the Jones’s house all the time in high school. Lara’s little brother would be running around with the dogs and poking fun at all our girly slumber party activities. Over ten years later, he is all grown up and getting MARRIED!

I truly feel like people can never escape their childhood. For me, this is a fantastic thing! Bianca reached out to me through a mutual friend from my high school! I went to Atlantic High together in South Florida with our mutual gal pal Jackie Erdo. I just love that the people I was friends with at home are still in my corner despite that it has been ten long years since 2007!

This year, Lekha reached out to me for engagement photos since we were both Duke alumns! We were toying with different DC-esque locations until we both happened to have an opening during cherry blossom time! We met on a Tuesday sunrise and spent 2 hours beneath the trees. During our session, I learned that Lekha and Aalok met as kids in high school! They have known each other for over 10 years. After dating long-distance, the two decided to tie the knot in their new home of Chicago, Illinois.

This was the sweetest engagement session of the year. When Courtney contacted me to snap some quintessential DC photos, I assumed the couple just thought the city was pretty. Little did I know, the pair wanted to document all the spots special to them before starting their new life in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Dana contacted me a few months ago about capturing her and Malcom’s wedding.. she actually found me through a Charm City Wed feature! This couple was extremely adorable and it really felt like hanging out with old friends. Malcom was cracking Dana up the whole session-even as we fought through the spring snow! Yes, that’s right, I said “spring snow”. They were both such troopers for our sunrise session at Fells Point in Baltimore. Good thing this pair likes the cold!

Did you know it can snow on the beach?! Neither did I! Tory and I had been planning this session for months during my trip down to Wilmington, NC. We both had visions of warm fall mornings and stunning sunrises on the beach. We even chatted about maybe ending the session in the water. Fast forward to October and BAM! A hurricane hit! Because the wedding I was going down for, got postponed due to weather, so did our shoot. The date was changed to March.. still stunning spring times right? WRONG! It SNOWED! We couldn’t have gotten more unlucky weather-wise but these two were such troopers.
