This is something brand new to the blog! Every year, I try to take on a personal creative project that fuels my heart. In my years in the wedding industry, I have gotten to know heaps of florists and have been fascinated by that aspect of weddings. I found that these designers attend and host […]

Flowerstock 2019 | Virginia Floral Workshop | Hope Flower Farm

When Sarah from Intrigue Designs asks if you would like to take photos in her stunning floral workshop, you say YES! Intrigue is one of the world’s best floral designers and they host workshops all around the globe. This year, Sarah just so happened to host one at Prism in Annapolis! I loved the minimalism of the space and the white walls were the perfect accompaniment to all of the wildly creative blooms.

Maryland Engagement Session | Prism Annapolis Engagement | Intrigue Floral Design Workshop

I just HAD to separate this session into 2 parts! I am obsessed with California light and this couple so the amount of photos I want to share is overwhelming. We spent the morning at Baker Beach but we also had our hearts set on Sutro Baths. After hitting up Baker Beach, we went over the the baths to find they were lit with insanely harsh front facing light. We decided then and there to comeback at sunset right before my redeye flight home.

San Francisco Engagement Photos | Sutro Baths Engagement Session | Katie and Matthias

Alright folks, this post was a long time coming. Today I want to talk to you about FILM. No, not video… shooting in real honest to god physical film like your parents had on their wedding day. I started shooting film in college when I had my first ever dark room class. I was able to develop my own film (with chemicals that the Duke Lab paid for). I loved it then but in the age of digital, I never thought I would return to it.

Film Photography Explained | What is a Hybrid Photographer? | Fine Art DC Wedding Photographer Kir Tuben

This year, I decided that if I took on a destination wedding client that I would make an actual trip out of it! When Katie hired me to shoot her wedding in Killington, Vermont, I knew that I wanted to extend this work trip into some personal time. I asked my friend Brett to come with me to Burlington and Montreal! We booked our tickets and the rest is history! These are my images and itinerary from my trip in Vermont and Montreal’s most French city! This post is 95% film developed by the Find Lab, digital images by Brett and myself as well as maybe 4 iPhone selfies. Enjoy!

Montreal Vacation | What to do in Montreal Canada | Destination Wedding Photographer

When you’re in the city of love, it’s nearly impossible to not want to photograph a couple! Cheyenne and Doug are photographers themselves! They run Art de’ Vie and are based out of New Orleans AND Paris! Lucky them! When we were chatting about a sweetheart session, they seemed surprised I didn’t want to shoot on the Trocadero. They shoot couples there on a weekly (if not daily) basis. While I of course did a quintessential shoot on those iconic stairs, I thought it would be a better feel of Paris to shoot on the Champs de Mars.
