I first met Laura & Jeff last winter. They lived in my exact neighborhood about 5 condos down! When we both discovered we liked the Bachelor, we became fast friends. Laura and I had been dating our college sweethearts for about 5 years and got engaged around the same time! It was only fate that I would snap some engagement portraits for them!

This is probably my favorite session I have ever done to date. It also happened to be the first time I had pre-session jitters when shooting a client… because it was my very own dad! This was a very personal project for me because it involved documenting a true love story that deeply impacts my life. At first, I wasn’t sure how my parents were going to react to being lovey on camera in front of me, but the two were naturals and had a ton of fun with it! 

Oh my goodness. I had the best Sunday ever with these two. Just look at this kiss! Swoon. After meeting Caroline in Sweet Green a month back, I knew we would be fast friends. She was exactly my speed: fun, sweet & cared about all the right things when discussing her wedding. When chatting with her, you immediately feel as if you have known her forever, and the same can be said of Bryce! The first day we met we were already chatting Jeeps and exchanging texts. I cannot wait for their 2017 wedding next fall. 

Lara & Louis are back on the blog! A few months back, I did puppy announcement photos for the pair… Yes, that is a real thing. This time around, I was able to snap my bestie’s engagement photos as well! While I am super sad I will not be shooting their wedding this winter it is for a dang good reason: I am extremely honored to say that I can’t shoot the D’Lando wedding because I will be standing up alongside Lara as she says I do! Being a bridesmaid is one of the highest honors a girl can receive and I am thrilled to be included in such an awesome group of gals.

It is strange how some people come into your life. I met Pam and Tom in a very nontraditional way. Most of my brides find me through word of mouth, mutual acquaintances or Instagram. When a parent of a student I teach mentioned that her friend was getting married, I felt it was bizarre fate that my two businesses would collide. 

I met Himanshu and Shuchi on a sunny Saturday afternoon at the Georgetown waterfront. After they complimented me on my camera, we got to talking and I handed them my business card thinking nothing of it. A week later, Himanshu emailed me saying that he was planning on proposing the very next week after we had met! How fortuitous!
