I get a lot of brides asking me, “What if it rains on my wedding day?” My answer is always, “Then we get wet!” This spring has been particularly rainy in Virginia; in fact, it rained on my wedding day too! April handled the rain just as every bride should, by dancing in it. When asked if she still wanted her portraits outside she replied with a resounding ‘Of course!’

 

It is pride month ladies and gentlemen! I am super passionate about is same sex weddings. A number of my very best friends have “come out” to me at throughout my lifetime and the conversation is always met with laughter, sometimes happy tears and love. When the Supreme Court decision to legalize same sex marriage was announced nearly a year ago from this week, I was filled with overwhelming pride for my country and happiness for my friends who can now choose to marry whom their heart loves. Love truly does win. 

Christine and Ron were one of the sweetest couples I have ever worked with. Their love was so completely genuine that it really made me remember why I shoot weddings. Marirosa Anderson allowed me to capture this wedding alongside her at the beautiful White Hall Estate Manor this spring. I was extremely thankful to meet this wonderful couple and be apart of their day. 

This was one of my favorite weddings to date! Jeanette and Drew were a super fun couple who knew the importance of friends, family and food. Their wedding day was all about spending time with their loved ones and celebrating their love. I had the privilege of capturing their big day alongside Becky Wilcher. Not only was the wedding amazing but I was also so inspired by watching Becky work!
