I feel like I can’t even find the words to write this properly. Katie was my first friend I made after my parents divorced and my mom moved us to South Florida. I was the quite girl who talked to her cat and liked Jewel and Katie was my loud next door neighbor who did gymnastics, loved to play capture the flag and seemed to talk to everyone. We became best friends all through middle school and high school even though we never actually went to school together and I ended up moving houses nearly every 2 years. We then ended up going to college 20 minutes away from one another in North Carolina and have seen each other through various boyfriends, all sorts of pets, quitting sports, moving jobs and now getting married.

If you had told me a few years back that I would be photographing an engagement session just feet away from my childhood home, I would’ve called you crazy. But LIFE is crazy, not us! When my super fun Richmond couple Lauren and Zach told me that they were moving to South Florida I was super excited. I then became ecstatic when they told me they chose DELRAY BEACH.. MY HOMETOWN! After debating Virginia locations for their engagement session Lauren finally asked “why don’t we just do a Florida engagement session?”

I know what you’re thinking.. ‘These are the raddest engagement photos ever.’ Given my long history with this bride, I knew her engagement photos would be less than typical and super creative/fun. Jen & Perry wanted photos out of the ordinary ‘nuzzling in a park’. A costume engagement just fits them so perfectly.

These are some of my favorite images I have ever snapped. In looking at these, I sometimes still cannot believe I took them! It is as if these photos stepped right out of my brain onto this screen. I grew up 30 minutes away from The Colony in Palm Beach. I have always dreamed of shooting bridal beauty in this hotel’s iconic hallways. I adore a classic Palm Beach wedding. To top it all off, The Colony is only a walk away from the historic Worth Avenue. Rachel and Eric were just adorable on and off camera and really made this vision come to life! I am so thrilled that these images were also shared by Inside Weddings on their blog to millions of readers! 

Every year, I have couples asking me the best place for engagement photos. Whether I’m in DC or Palm Beach, I wanted to always have an answer to these inquiries! Because I am from Delray, I feel like it was almost harder for me to compile this list because I think every street is special because it has a memory; but the most picturesque settings are below!
